In all seriousness, my husband and I ended up on our first Celebrity cruise by accident, well sort of. Darren and I were a part of a marriage retreat which just happened to be hosted on the brand-new Celebrity Beyond and it took us about 24 hours to be in love with all things Celebrity! The design of the ship very much resembles the private yachts I spent many years on, so I immediately felt right at home. Celebrity exudes quality and class and it's evident that the Royal Caribbean Brand has spent countless hours perfecting the guest experience. With Broadway quality entertainment that has been stacking up awards like crazy, you'll find yourself anxious to arrive at the theater early every evening to snag a premium spot.
One thing you will immediately notice is that the ship feels very relaxing. While Celebrity doesn't prohibit children and teens, you'll quickly see that there are very few aboard. In general, families with children and teens cruise on the sister line, Royal Caribbean.
One of my favorite aspects of the new Edge Class ships, of which the Beyond is one, is the unique change in dining. The Edge Class ships offer 4 different restaurants, each with a distinct cuisine, as part of the complimentary dining options instead of just the single Main Dining Room of previous class ships. It was incredibly fun getting to sample a new restaurant each night. Together with the variety of specialty dining venues, guests have quite the array of dining choices.
Celebrity Cruises is always striving to lead the industry with their ships and guest experiences. If you want to experience the ultimate in luxury on your cruise, then be sure to book a stateroom in The Retreat. Retreat guests are lavished with personal concierges, private butlers, a private restaurant and lounge, private sundeck and pool, as well as dedicated boarding and disembarking gangways. Select suites have their own private plunge pool or outdoor soaking tub.
My husband and I have also enjoyed our room attendant on each of our cruises. They are always extremely polite and kind, and take great care of us and our room. They pay attention to the smallest details and work hard to make our vacation the best it can be. I have great respect for these men and women because I know there are times they are exhausted and could use a well-deserved break, but yet they are there with a smile on their face taking care of us.
While there are many aspects of a Celebrity cruise that I look forward to with each sailing, I have to say the highlight of my trip is usually the ABBA dance party! I do have to admit to being a big ABBA fan in general, but the dance party just brings the entire ship to life and gets everyone dancing and singing. On our last sailing, the cruise director even adorned his ABBA sweater for the party! It was a blast!
